Adrian Grilli
Managing Director
Adrian Grilli is a Chartered Engineer, being a member of both
the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Institution
of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
He trained originally as an Automotive Engineer in the UK
truck and bus industry. Subsequently, he joined the British Civil
Service and spent 20 years in government in a variety of posts in
the Department of Trade & Industry and Cabinet Office. During
this time, he spent two spells in the Radiocommunications Agency
managing Spectrum Reviews and as Director of Broadcasting, Fixed
Telecommunications, Space and Satellite Services.
In 1996, he was appointed as the first Managing Director of
the Joint Radio Company Ltd.
Adrian is Chairman of the Board of the Federation of Communications Services, of which JRC is an active member.

Anita Lad
Office Manager and Company Secretary
Anita has worked for the JRC since 2000. Prior to this she
held various administration and finance positions in Civil
Service, Local Government and a facilities management
company.

Simon Parsons
Spectrum Management Consultant
Mobile Radio & Information Systems
Simon is an IT Professional and Radio Spectrum Manager. He joined
JRC in 1996, having previously worked for 13 years in
various IT, Standardization and Operational Engineering roles at
the former UK Spectrum Regulator, the Radiocommunications
Agency. Simon is a Chartered Member of the British Computer Society and Spectrum Management member of the Federation of Communication Services Business Radio Council.

David Priestley
Spectrum Management Consultant
Scanning Telemetry & Fixed Services
David served an apprenticeship in the electrical contracting
industry prior to providing technical assistance to post graduate
satellite communication studies at the University of Bradford.
After gaining a B.Eng. at the University of Sheffield, he worked
for several years in the Communications & Instrumentation
Department of North Thames Gas. David was seconded to the JRC in
1988 and became a permanent staff member in 1996.

Peter Swan
Spectrum Management Consultant
Mobile Radio & Windfarms
Peter joined JRC in 2005 after a 30 year career in
Airbourne Radar, Military Communications and British Gas ending as a Senior
Telecommunications Engineer. Before joining JRC he'd worked with us on various
committees and lead a Compatability Study between JRC
Trunked PMR systems and the Orbcomm Low Earth Orbit
communications system which proved conclusively that the two
networks could not co-exist in the same frequency bands.

Mark Simpson
Principal Consultant
Mark has nearly 30 years experience in engineering design and project management working in both the electricity and telecommunications industries.
Prior to joining JRC, Mark was Standards Manager for Central Networks; responsible for the specification of their distribution assets and network design policy. Before that, Mark spent 9 years in the telecommunication industry. As a project director for Marconi, Mark was responsible for working with strategic customers on the development and delivery of IP switching solutions and mobile cashless payment. As a Programme Manager he worked with several telecommunications operators in both the UK and Europe including Vodafone, ntl and Airwave, delivering major microwave and optical core networks solutions.
Before moving into telecommunications, Mark started his career as a digital protection designer for GEC Measurements and was the System Design Manager for an Anglo-French Defence company.

Ted Aksamit

Chas Griffin
Licensing Manager
Chas has a broad experience of the electronic and radio sector derived
from 30 years as a contractor. He has an
extensive test and development background which has included electronics,
radio and fixed telecommunications. He has worked for a number of large
communications companies in the UK and undertaken design and development
assignments in broadcasting, mobile radio communications, SCADA systems,
instrumentation and calibration.

Keith Brogden
Engineer
Windfarms
Keith is an electrical and electronics engineer with a long career
in satellite communications, radar, consumer electronics and
telecommunications. For the last twelve years, he has been involved in
spectrum management and licensing for the broadcast and programme-making
sector, focusing on frequency co-ordination and interference resolution. He
joined JRC in 2009 to manage our wind energy co-ordination process.

Joseph Grilli

Economic Analysis
Joseph joined JRC to undertake a number of projects on the economic
value of business radio and radio spectrum and is also part of the wind farm co-ordination team.
He has a background in
Economics and ICT.

Trevor McKay
Associate Engineering Consultant
Telecommunications
Trevor is an experienced project manager with 40 years background in
the gas industry. He is qualified in mechanical and electrical engineering,
with a career focused on instrumentation and control, and latterly
telecommunications. He has been responsible for project management of large
national communications systems from concept through to decommissioning and
has worked with JRC as an Associate since 2008.
